American Idol Clay Aiken

July 30-31

American Idol star Clay Aiken has won the hearts of millions of fans across the globe with his southern charm and glorious voice. This summer, Idol fans can see Clay Aiken's debut in the Circus Maximus Theater, Friday, July 30, 10pm, and Saturday, July 31 at 9pm. Tickets are $75.

Aiken, who rose to fame on American Idol, won himself a recording contract from RCA Records through Simon Fuller's 19 Recordings Limited. His first single, "This is the Night," backed with a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" debuted at number one in June 2003. Aiken's debut album, Measure of a Man, was released in October 2003 and went number one on Billboard's Top 200 during its first week of release. The album's hit song "Invisible," was voted #1 on MTV's TRL. His latest hit, "The Way" was released in February 2004.


David Copperfield Reappears

August 5-8

He has been called the greatest magician in the world. He has revolutionized magic and taken it to new heights through fascinating illusions and extraordinary theater. Caesars presents grand illusionist David Copperfield in the Circus Maximus Theater. Showtimes are Thursday, Aug. 5 at 3 and 8pm; Friday, Aug. 6 at 7 and 11pm; Saturday, Aug. 7 at 3 and 8pm, and Sunday, Aug. 8 at 3 and 8pm. Tickets are $50 and $75.

David Copperfield: An Intimate Evening Of Grand Illusion is an event that features fascinating illusions by the master. Copperfield breaks new ground in Grand Illusion and takes his art to a grand, yet intimate, personal, yet universal, dimension for an evening of wonders. Copperfield has made the Statue of Liberty vanish, walked through the Great Wall of China, flown through the air and made audience members disappear and reappear in unexpected places.


Scathing Comedy By Lewis Black

August 13-14

Lewis Black brings his scathing, sarcastic, and cranky social and political comedy to Caesars Friday, Aug. 13 at 10pm and Saturday, Aug. 14 at 9pm. Tickets are $35. Black has released three comedy albums, each offering his opinionated views on a variety of social and political issues. On Black's most recent release, Rules of Enragement, he offers his thoughts on homeland security, the war in Iraq, smallpox, greed, international travel, and health clubs. An accomplished actor, playwright, and stand-up comic, he is also a weekly commentator on Comedy Central's The Daily Show. Black has also appeared in numerous motion pictures, including Hannah and Her Sisters, Jacob's Ladder, The Hard Way, and The Night We Never Met. He has written more than 40 plays that have been produced in theaters across the country.


Dante Hall Theater of the Arts

Hoofing It up with Tap Team Two

August 7

Dante Hall presents Tap Team Two and Company, a Philadelphia-based dance company that strives to keep the dance style of "hoofing" alive. All tickets are $5 and the showtime is 6pm. Hoofing is an old street style of tap dance that consists of intricate rhythms and foot work that is very close to the ground. Tap Team Two will illustrate the origins of this unique style during their performance and also demonstrate how Tap dance can be used musically through polyrhythms.
